Scheduled QR Codes That Switch Automatically

Set a time-based schedule for your QR code and QRLooper handles every transition without manual intervention. Print once, configure once, and let the code serve the right content at the right time throughout your entire campaign.

What is a scheduled QR code?

A scheduled QR code is a dynamic QR code that serves different destination URLs based on the current date and time. Instead of pointing permanently to one page, it holds a schedule that defines what content to serve during each time period.

QRLooper implements this through a three-stage model. You define a Before stage, a Live stage, and an After stage. Each stage has its own destination URL and a time window specifying when that stage is active. When someone scans the code, QRLooper identifies which stage is currently active and redirects the scanner there instantly.

This model is purpose-built for campaigns that have a clear lifecycle. Events move from promotion to live day to post-event recap. Product launches move from pre-launch waitlist to launch day to ongoing purchase page. Restaurant service periods move from breakfast to lunch to dinner to late night. Scheduled QR codes handle all of these transitions automatically.

How scheduled QR codes work

01

Create your experience

Choose a use case, name your experience, and set the destination URLs for each stage. Each stage gets its own URL, whether that is a registration page, a live event page, or a post-event recap.

02

Set time windows for each stage

Define the start and end date and time for your Before, Live, and After stages. QRLooper handles the transitions automatically. You do not need to log in to flip a switch when your event starts.

03

Print your QR code

Download the generated QR code image and print it on any physical material. The pattern never changes, so your printed materials stay correct even as content behind the code evolves.

04

Scans route to the right stage automatically

Every scan checks the current time, identifies the active stage, and redirects the scanner instantly. Analytics track every scan across all stages so you can see engagement throughout your campaign.

Why scheduled QR codes matter

The biggest problem with standard dynamic QR codes is that someone still has to manually update the destination when a campaign phase changes. That manual step almost always happens at the worst moment, such as right when an event is starting and the team is busiest.

Scheduled QR codes eliminate the manual step entirely. The transitions happen on the schedule you set in advance. Your event starts and the code automatically switches to the live stage. Your event ends and the code automatically switches to the post-event stage.

For businesses that run regular recurring service periods, such as restaurants with multiple menu periods each day, scheduled QR codes also eliminate the daily habit of remembering to update a URL. The schedule runs indefinitely.
